We aren't third-party safari brokers. Every journey is designed, organized, and guided by native wildlife specialists from our Kampala headquarters.
Our licensed lead guides grew up tracking wildlife across Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, and Murchison Falls. They read spoor, birdsong, and subtle weather patterns to position your vehicle at the perfect vantage point.
Securing mountain gorilla and chimpanzee habituation permits requires direct Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) priority access. We handle the paperwork, verification, and logistics with zero middleman markups.
Every group travels in our private heavy-duty 4x4 safari vehicles featuring 360-degree pop-up photography hatches, high-output USB/inverter charging ports, cooler boxes, and long-range VHF communication radios.
From Entebbe airport reception to your departure, our 24/7 Kampala team tracks your route live. Every safari includes AMREF Flying Doctors emergency airlift cover and comprehensive passenger insurance for total peace of mind.
From your first enquiry to the drive back to the airport, everything below is planned and run in-house by our Kampala team.

What guests tell us after they get back.
Trekking gorillas in Bwindi with Kakaraya Safaris was seamless. Permit arrangements were handled smoothly and our guide made us feel safe throughout.
Our 4-day Murchison Falls tour was fantastic. The cruiser was clean and spacious, lodging was great, and we saw lions on the very first morning drive.
Warm, helpful, and transparent service. The Kakaraya team tailored our entire itinerary to fit our family budget without missing a single detail.
Everything international travelers need to know before booking a gorilla trek or wildlife safari in Uganda.
Gorilla trekking permits in Uganda are strictly issued and regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) at $800 per person (non-resident). As an officially registered member of AUTO and licensed by UTB, Kakaraya Safaris purchases and secures permits directly from UWA on your behalf. Once you confirm your trip with us, your gorilla permit date and tracking sector (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, or Nkuringo) are 100% guaranteed.
Uganda is exceptional year-round because of its equatorial temperature. The prime dry seasons run from June to September and December to February, offering easier trekking trails through Bwindi and optimal wildlife concentration around savanna waterholes in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls. However, the green seasons (March–May and October–November) bring lush photography conditions, baby animals, migratory birds, and uncrowded lodges.
We operate heavy-duty 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers custom-outfitted for African bush terrain. Each vehicle includes high-angle pop-up roofs for 360° wildlife photography, guaranteed window seating, heavy-duty suspension, dual spare tires, high-output inverter USB chargers for camera gear, cooler boxes stocked with mineral water, and long-range VHF radios.
Absolutely. Over 80% of our expeditions are custom-built. Whether you desire luxury fly-in safaris staying in high-end eco-lodges, a multi-generational family holiday with child-friendly savanna drives, or an intense birdwatching safari across 1,000+ species, our Kampala trip designers craft an itinerary tailored to your exact budget, timeframe, and physical activity comfort level.
Travelers to Uganda need a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity), an online Uganda Tourist Visa or East Africa Tourist Visa (covering Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya), and a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. For gorilla trekking, we provide a complete field checklist: waterproof hiking boots, garden gloves, lightweight long sleeves, rain jacket, and insect repellent.
Our quotes are completely transparent with zero hidden surprises. Every package includes private 4x4 safari transportation with all fuel and an expert guide, full-board accommodation, all national park conservation entry fees, pre-purchased activity permits (gorilla, chimp, boat cruises), complimentary drinking water, and AMREF Flying Doctors emergency medical evacuation cover.
